🌊🐟 Shocking Sight at Pembrey Beach: Hundreds of Sharks Wash Up! 🦈😲

Last Sunday, beachgoers at Pembrey Beach in Carmarthenshire were stunned to discover around 200 dead sharks tangled in netting. This grim scene left many people saddened and searching for answers.
Experts now offer a possible explanation: the sharks might have been caught accidentally by a fisherman overwhelmed by the size of the catch. What a scary thought!

Marine Environmental Monitoring visited the site and confirmed the net was of a gill type, originally set at sea. It tragically ensnared around 200 adult Tope and Smooth-hound sharks, along with a few smaller cat sharks. All the poor creatures appeared to have died recently, likely trapped within the net. 😢
The big question remains: who left the net? While it’s unclear, speculation suggests it could have been a hobbyist or a small-boat fisherman who couldn’t manage the heavy load and cut it loose. Efforts are underway with local authorities to prevent such a disaster from happening again.
Let’s hope this tragic event brings about change to better protect marine life. Stay safe, and keep enjoying our beautiful beaches! 🐬❤️
