🚗 😲 Shocking Incident on Nant y Gwyddon Road!

A startling accident unfolded when Bethan Cook, 48, driving from Tonypandy to Gelli, fell unconscious at the wheel after taking new medication. Her Mercedes veered across the road, crashing into a Ford Transit before hitting a Suzuki Swift and finally colliding with Jessica Hopkins’ vehicle.

Jessica, who was in front of the Transit van, felt an immense force strike her car, followed by the sound of a loud bang and shattering glass. The airbags deployed, and two men rushed to help her out of the wreckage. She suffered a fractured spine, along with numerous cuts and bruises, leading to her hospitalisation for five days. Sadly, her dream of joining the police force has been dashed due to her injuries. 😢
At the Cardiff Crown Court hearing, it was revealed the defendant had started taking anti-depressant medication just three days before the incident and hadn’t been warned about potential side effects. Despite pleading guilty to causing serious injury by careless driving, Cook avoided jail time but received a 12-month community order and a one-year driving ban. 🚫
A real reminder of how crucial it is to understand the side effects of any medication, especially when driving. Stay safe out there, everyone! 🛡️❤️
