🎱 Snooker Legend Bids Farewell! 🎱

After over thirty years on the professional snooker scene, former world champion Ken Doherty has announced his retirement. The 56-year-old Irishman, who famously clinched the World Championship title in 1997, has decided it’s time to step away from the professional tour.

Ken recently battled it out at the World Seniors’ Snooker Championship against snooker great Ronnie O’Sullivan. Despite facing defeat, he made the heartfelt decision that the time has come to hang up his cue on the main tour. “It’s just time to call an end to the career and say that’s enough,” Ken said, admitting he should’ve perhaps retired earlier. But his love for the game kept him competing.
While he might be leaving the professional scene, fear not, snooker fans! Ken will still be gracing the seniors’ events and won’t be disappearing from our TV screens. As a beloved BBC commentator, Ken has been the voice behind many championship matches and will continue sharing his insights and passion for the game.
Reflecting on his incredible journey, Ken extends his gratitude for the immense support he’s received from fans worldwide. “I’ve had a great time. It’s been magnificent, not only here in Ireland, but all over the world.”
Let’s give a cheer to Ken for an incredible career and all the unforgettable moments. Thank you, Ken, for all the snooker magic! 🎉🏆
