🏉 Wales Rugby has a secret weapon, and it’s not who you might think! In just nine months, head coach Steve Tandy has been working behind the scenes, realigning and re-energising the Wales rugby setup.

Tandy’s journey started back in a bustling Melbourne hotel, where his leadership skills and ability to unite teams won him the top job. Since then, it’s been all systems go to build solid connections between the national team and the professional clubs.

Under Tandy’s vision, we’ve seen the introduction of innovative alignment camps. These camps, held in January and April, invited around 50 players to immerse themselves deeply into the Wales rugby ethos at the Vale Resort HQ. It’s all about getting everyone on the same page—literally, these sessions are all classroom-based, focusing on the game model and strategic growth.
To keep things fresh, former Wales captain Sam Warburton even popped in earlier this year to dish out some leadership wisdom. And it’s not just the big gatherings making waves. Smaller pockets of players are getting focused time with the national team coaches, sharpening skills that are often glossed over. Think hookers working on throws – a small change, but it makes a huge difference on the field!
Exciting news for the fans too – we’ve got new faces in the coaching staff! Dan Lydiate is set to shape up the defensive contact skills, with more specialist coaches on the way.
Even those playing beyond Welsh borders aren’t left out. With Tandy frequently reaching out to players at English clubs, everyone’s getting a piece of the strategic puzzle. Bryn Bradley from Harlequins and Kane James from Exeter are testaments to his proactive approach.
There’s a buzz in the Wales camp, and it’s all down to Tandy’s relentless push for unity and excellence. As the players gather for the new season, they’re not just prepared—they’re aligned and ready to make their mark! 🏆
