🔞 **Big Changes at Dan Yr Ogof** 🌿

Heads up, caravan and camping fans! The iconic Dan Yr Ogof site in the beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog is making a big switch. From 14th September, it’s going adults-only! Why? It all boils down to a proposed visitor levy that includes everyone—even the tiniest guests!

A new law introduced by the previous Welsh Government means a £1.30 per night charge could apply to everyone staying at tourist accommodations, including babies. But the decision on enforcing it is still in the hands of local councils. Dan Yr Ogof’s wardens aren’t thrilled about asking families to pay a tax for their little ones, so they’ve taken a bold step to avoid it altogether.

Ashford Price, Chairman of Dan Yr Ogof Caves, expressed, “No one wants to ask a family to pay for their newborn’s stay, especially when times are tough.” The decision to go adults-only is a compromise to sidestep these tricky conversations and keep it pleasant for everyone.
With other European countries not taxing babies and featuring lower VAT rates, this move stands as a protest against the proposed levy. While some young family accommodations are exempt, the levy still targets other stays.
