🎉 Exciting news for Swansea City fans! 🎉
The Swans have snapped up their first summer signing, welcoming Stephen Welsh, the talented 26-year-old defender from Celtic. Coming in on a free transfer, he’s committed to a two-year deal with an option for an extra year. 🦢
After impressive performances on loan at Motherwell last season, helping them to a top-four finish, Welsh is ready for his next challenge in the Championship. Having made 70 appearances for Celtic and even playing in the Europa and Champions League, he brings a wealth of experience. 🏆
Welsh is eager for this new chapter, saying, “Swansea is a big club with a proud history. It was a no-brainer. The vision of the head coach and the plans for the future are exciting.” He’s ready to hit the ground running and can’t wait to play in front of the passionate Swans supporters. ⚽️
Swansea’s boss, Vitor Matos, is thrilled with the signing, adding that Welsh’s calm and mobile style will be a perfect fit for the team’s dominant playing strategy.
Here’s to an exciting season ahead! Let’s show Welsh the warmest of Welsh welcomes. 🙌
