Former Rugby Star Charged with Assaulting Woman in her 50s with Multiple Punches

In a shocking incident outside the Nos Da bar in Milford Haven, a rugby player brutally assaulted a woman in her 50s while she was in her car. The court heard how Ben Jenkins, influenced by heavy drinking, targeted the woman by repeatedly punching her through the open window of her vehicle simply because she asked him to move.

Swansea Crown Court’s Judge Paul Thomas KC didn’t hold back, calling Jenkins’ actions far worse than “disgraceful” and criticising him for not owning up to his actions, forcing the case to go to trial. Jenkins, who now plans to become a father, was handed a two-year suspended prison sentence, with additional conditions including a 90-day alcohol abstinence and 250 hours of community service.

He was also ordered to pay £3,000 in compensation to the victim and is now subject to a three-year restraining order. The harsh reality of this offence serves as a chilling reminder of the impact of alcohol-fuelled violence and the importance of justice for victims. Let’s hope this serves as a turning point for Jenkins and brings peace and strength to the victim.
