Are you a sourdough lover like me? 🍞 I decided to put supermarket sourdoughs to the test and see if they could stack up against my usual favourite, Jason’s. I ventured to Tesco, Aldi, Asda, and Sainsbury’s to find out which loaf would claim the top spot. Here’s what I discovered:

🔥 Jason’s has always been my go-to with its chewy texture and unique flavour, but at £2.15, it’s not the cheapest option out there.

💰 Asda surprised me as the priciest at £2.44, but it fell a bit flat with only eight slices and a very dense texture. Not the winner this time!
😐 Aldi’s option at £1.75 was my least favourite of the bunch. It lacked the characteristic sourdough chewiness and tasted pretty dry. I might try their rye version next time, but I’m not rushing back for this one.
👌 Sainsbury’s, at £1.95, delivered a zesty flavour and soft texture. Its thin slices with air pockets kept it from being perfect, yet it managed to secure the runner-up position.
🏆 Drumroll for Tesco, which took the crown at just £1.50! Its rich taste and perfectly salty crust impressed me beyond expectation. The only downside was a few too many holes in the bread—but honestly, the flavour won me over.
So there you have it! Tesco triumphs in the battle of the supermarket sourdoughs. Who knew the best taste could be found in the most affordable loaf? Next time you’re on a sourdough hunt, you might find that giving Tesco a shot will save you some pennies without skimping on flavour. Happy toasting! 😋✨
