Bridgend’s community is rallying together to save a beloved nursery! An online petition has been launched against plans to shut down the Flying Start nursery at Afon Y Felin in North Cornelly. The closure, decided by the local council, has sparked concern among parents worried about the impact on children and families who rely on this vital service. With over 200 signatures already, the petition highlights how significant this nursery is, not just as an educational centre but as a community cornerstone where kids learn, play, and develop crucial skills.

Concerned parents argue that closing the nursery threatens children’s future success and the wellbeing of their families. The loss of the nursery could also mean job cuts for the dedicated staff who pour their hearts into these young lives.
In response, the council assures that there’s enough local provision to accommodate all the children and is reaching out to offer guidance for a smooth transition to other nearby nurseries. They are committed to making sure no child misses out on the opportunities that Flying Start provides.

Community members are urged to voice their opinions and sign the petition, hoping the council will reconsider and keep the nursery’s doors open. Let’s see if we can keep this cherished space alive for our children’s future! 🌟
