🏡 Dreaming of a fresh start? This family made it a reality by selling their UK homes to snap up an entire hamlet in France for just £450,000! 🏰🇫🇷

Meet Helen, Terry, Liz, and David—the adventurous clan who traded the UK hustle for a laid-back French lifestyle. Together, they purchased Lac De Maison, a charming rural hamlet in Poitou-Charentes, complete with six 400-year-old houses, two barns, and three acres of serene land. 🌳
Helen and Terry, both 76, along with their daughter Liz, 48, and son-in-law David, 57, took the plunge during the Brexit rush. Now they’re living the dream, seeing the grandkids Tom and Charlotte every day instead of once in a blue moon! 👨👩👧👦

The family transformed their new village into a welcoming retreat, offering stunning holiday homes that sleep up to 19 guests. Over the past five years, they’ve enjoyed renovating the properties and getting creative with their new way of life. 🏡✨
Their decision wasn’t without challenges, but Liz proudly shares, “It was blood, sweat, and tears, but worth it in the end—a change from being in the rat race. With properties of this size and age, I don’t think renovations ever finish.”
Now, with solar panels and the benefits of the French tax system, they’re loving the financial freedom too! 💡
While they admit they’ve spent more on renovations than expected, the family is thrilled with their move and has no plans of returning to the UK. They’ve embraced the peace and simplicity of French countryside living—enjoying both the family time and the charming culture. 🍷
“It’s really nice to be part of a family unit, living mortgage-free, and watching the children grow,” Liz adds.
