Heartfelt farewells are being prepared for two beloved teenagers, Ta-Shay Canoville and Jaydon Bowyer, whose lives were tragically cut short. Both young men were killed in early May after being struck by a vehicle on Aberthaw Road, Alway, Newport. Two men have been charged with murder and are in custody awaiting their next court date.

Family and friends plan to come together to honour the memories of these vibrant souls. Jaydon Bowyer’s funeral is set for Tuesday, June 16, at 1pm at St John’s Church, Maindee. Attendees are encouraged to wear royal blue to celebrate his life, with donations going towards the Wales Air Ambulance. The service will be followed by an interment at Christchurch Cemetery, and a reception at Rodney Parade.
Ta-Shay Canoville’s farewell will take place on Friday, June 26. The procession begins at Hendre Farm at noon, heading to St John’s Church for a 1pm service. Guests are asked to wear trailberg tracksuits with black trousers, white shirts, and baby blue ties, or black with baby blue hair bows, reflecting Ta-Shay’s vibrant spirit.

Families remember Jaydon for his politeness and cheeky charm, while Ta-Shay’s warmth and loving nature left a lasting impact on those who knew him. Tributes continue to pour in for these young lives taken too soon.
In touching dedication, both families hope these gatherings will not only mourn the loss but celebrate the joy and love Jaydon and Ta-Shay brought into the world.
