David Emanuel, the brilliant mind behind Princess Diana’s stunning wedding gown, has been awarded an MBE for his incredible work with Macmillan Cancer Support. Even more touching, David himself is a cancer survivor, having battled prostate cancer 12 years ago. 🤝💚
During his treatment, a Macmillan nurse encouraged him to speak openly about his condition—a challenge he accepted wholeheartedly. “I got loads of replies,” he shared. “It was quite amazing.” His openness inspired him to become an ambassador for the charity and help break the silence around men’s health issues. 📢❤️
David had to keep his MBE a secret, even from his children! Reflecting on this, he chuckled, “I managed to keep the secret of Diana’s wedding dress, so this was no different.” 🤫🎀
He also praised King Charles for bravely disclosing his own cancer diagnosis in 2024. David believes the King’s openness has encouraged others to prioritise their health: “If the King is suffering, you think: ‘Well I should get checked.’ It’s very brave.” 👑🩺
