🌴✈️ Travellers, brace yourselves! A new trend is sweeping across holiday plans this year – the “delaycation”. Rising global tensions and economic concerns are prompting millions of Brits to rethink their summer getaways. With nearly 1 in 4 saying world events have already thrown a spanner in the works, flexibility is the name of the game.
From fuel price hikes linked to Middle East unrest to tight household budgets, many are delaying plans, sticking to the UK, or opting for shorter, budget-friendly trips. The idea of splashing out on exotic travel is being replaced by cautious planning and the call of a good ol’ staycation. Costs are already down, with holiday spending dipping by 1.2% compared to the same period last year.
So, whether you’re altering plans or embracing spontaneity, stay nimble and enjoy the summer vibes wherever they take you! 🌞⛱️ #holidayplanning #staycation #traveltrends2026
