🚨 **Attention Blue Badge Holders!** 🚨
Heads up if you’re using a blue badge in Rhondda Cynon Taf! The council is cracking down hard on any misuse, and fines are hitting abusers where it hurts. Recently, three people were caught out, two in Pontypridd and one in Aberdare, trying to pull a fast one with dodgy blue badges.
Turns out, two of these badges belonged to late owners, and the third was a complete fake! 😲 They’ve all been hauled before the Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court and collectively fined over £1,400 for their cheek. Remember, blue badge misuse could slap you with a fine of up to £1,000 and a criminal record. Ouch!
Barrie Davies from the council had a strong message: “We won’t tolerate this misuse. These badges are for those with mobility challenges to access essential locations easily. Taking advantage of this system denies spaces to those who genuinely need them.”
The council isn’t messing around, with regular patrols set up to catch anyone trying their luck. So if you’re up to no good, watch out! 👀
