🌼 Hay Fever Alert! 🌼

Heads up, folks! The Met Office has issued a warning, and it’s not looking great for those of us with hay fever. Over 16 million people in England and Wales might feel the pollen pinch in the coming days. Pollen levels are forecasted to be high to very high from Tuesday to Friday, so brace yourselves for a week of itchy eyes and sneezing fits!

The southern and eastern regions will experience the worst of it, but even up north and in the west, conditions might be unpredictable with some occasional spikes. Pollen thrives in warm, dry, and breezy weather, so those tiny particles will be floating around more than ever. 🌬️

Hay fever happens when our immune systems play tricks on us, reacting to pollen as if it’s a harmful substance. Besides sneezing, you might grapple with a runny or blocked nose, itchy throat, headaches, and even trouble sleeping during high pollen counts. 🌼
Currently, grass pollen is the main culprit, affecting about 95% of sufferers according to Allergy UK. To ward off symptoms, the NHS suggests keeping windows closed during peak times (early mornings and evenings), jumping in the shower after being outdoors, and considering antihistamines if recommended by a healthcare professional. 🚫🌾
Stay updated with the Met Office’s regular pollen forecasts to know what’s happening in your area. Let’s get through this sneezefest together! 🤧
