🚨 Train Travel Alert! 🚨

Heads up if you’re travelling between South Wales and Bristol today! Major disruptions have hit the Severn Tunnel after reports of debris caused a shutdown last evening. While the tracks are now clear, delays and cancellations are likely to stick around until the day’s end.

What happened? Just before 8pm on June 16, Great Western Railway had to deal with an obstruction on the track between Newport and Bristol Parkway, leading to blocked lines. This sent ripples through the service, especially for those heading to the Take That concert in Cardiff.
What’s the current situation? All lines are now open, but expect some chaos as services get back to normal. You might see cancellations, delays up to 30 minutes, or even some diversions. Some trains may take a detour via Lydney in Gloucestershire, bypassing Patchway and Bristol Parkway.
What are your options? If your ticket covers these routes, you can use it without extra cost on CrossCountry or Transport for Wales services between Cheltenham Spa/Gloucester and Newport/Cardiff Central. Plus, rail replacement transport is on the way!
Stay tuned for updates and safe travels! 🚆💼
