Tragic news from Portugal’s sunny Algarve. A body has sadly been found after a 23-year-old British man went missing while sea swimming at Peneco Beach, Albufeira. The search kicked off last Friday after a friend, who was with the missing man, raised the alarm when he managed to make it back to shore and realised his mate was no longer with him.
Local Maritime Police, firefighters, and civil protection teams were quickly on the scene. After receiving an alert from a nearby fisherman on Tuesday, they located and recovered the body off the coast. The authorities have confirmed the death, and the body has been taken for formal identification.
