🏉 Big news in Welsh rugby! Paul James, former international prop, has been appointed as the new scrum coach for Wales. At 44, James has edged out some legendary names including Adam and Duncan Jones to secure this prestigious role. After stepping in temporarily during the Six Nations following Duncan’s unexpected injury, he’s shown he’s fully up to the task.

Starting immediately, James will be nurturing the squad outside of the major international campaigns, focusing on developing players’ skills and progression. This exciting move places James alongside Tandy, Matt Sherratt, Danny Wilson, and Peter Murchie as Wales’ dedicated full-time coaches.

But the team’s not done building just yet – there are still spots open for a new kicking coach and an attacking skills specialist. Rumour has it that we could see the likes of Leigh Halfpenny stepping into these shoes!
James expressed his excitement, saying it’s a “huge honour” to join the national coaching team and he’s itching to work with the squad again. With a playing career boasting 66 caps and major titles under his belt, his transition to coaching has been impressive, already contributing significantly with the Ospreys and Wales U20s.
Welsh Rugby is set to push boundaries with James on board just in time for the upcoming Nations Championship. Let’s keep an eye on this space! 🏆🔥 #WelshRugby #PaulJames #RugbyRevolution
