Big football news! Burnley are making moves to snag Wales boss Craig Bellamy as their new manager. The recently relegated Clarets are serious about bouncing back to the Premier League and they’ve set their sights on Bellamy, who’s been a standout as Wales manager.
But it’s a tug-of-war! Bellamy is still under contract with Wales and has been vocal about leading the Dragons into Euro 2028. Plus, a hefty compensation will be needed to lure him away – talk has it, around £700,000.
Why Burnley? Well, they believe Bellamy can deliver exciting football – remember that thrilling 7-1 against North Macedonia? Yet, it’s not all rosy; Wales faced a few hiccups recently, including a World Cup exit.
Despite Burnley’s tempting offer – which could quadruple Bellamy’s salary – there’s no official deal yet. The FAW is eager to keep him, prepping for upcoming Nations League and Euro qualifiers.
Wales have tough fixtures ahead with games against Ronaldo’s Portugal and Haaland’s Norway, promising a thrilling ride. Bellamy is keen to stick around and aims for the dugout during the Euro 2028 opener at the Principality Stadium.
Will Bellamy continue to champion Wales, or will Burnley’s offer be too good to resist? The next few days will be key in this unfolding football drama. Stay tuned! ⚽️
