🌞 Heads up, folks! A scorching heatwave is on its way to Wales, and schools are urging parents to keep their kids cool and safe. With temperatures predicted to reach a sweltering 35°C, it’s vital to prepare. 🔥
Local schools are recommending students bring along a refillable water bottle, slap on some sunscreen before heading out, and pop on a hat when outdoors. Whitchurch High School in Cardiff is taking steps to ensure everyone remains comfortable, with plans to regularly monitor the sizzling conditions. 🎒🥤🧢
The Met Office has issued an amber extreme heat warning for several areas including Cardiff, Bridgend, and Rhondda Cynon Taf. There’s a chance we might even break the June record of 35.6°C! 🌡️
Steven Keates, Deputy Chief Forecaster, shares that temperatures will rise early next week, reaching their peak on Tuesday and Wednesday. He warns of ‘tropical nights’ where temperatures won’t drop below 20°C, especially in urban spots. 🌜
Stay smart, stay hydrated, and make sure those little ones are well-prepared for the heat! 🧴👒💦
