☀️ Money-saving sunscreen tip for this heatwave! 🧴

Before you head out to soak up the sun, check the back of your sunscreen bottle! Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert team reveals a smart trick that could save you some cash this summer. Flip your sunscreen over and look for the ‘period after opening’ (PAO) number. This magic number tells you how many months your sunscreen will keep you protected after opening – it’s often 12 or 24 months.
So, if you have some left over, you can use it next year or even the year after! No more wasting suncream simply because you forgot how long it’s been open. Plus, if it’s past the PAO date, use it as a body lotion instead.

With a red Extreme Heat warning in some areas, staying protected is key! Remember, sunburn can increase your skin cancer risk – and it can happen right here in the UK, not just on a beach holiday. So, when the sun is at its peak between 11am and 3pm, seek shade, slather on that SPF 30+, and wear protective clothing.

Aim for balance: protect your skin, but enjoy the sun responsibly to get that all-important vitamin D. Look for sunscreens with at least four-star UVA protection.
Stay safe, save money, and enjoy the sun! 🌞💰
