Tragedy strikes in France as a devastating heatwave leads to heartbreak. A 3-year-old boy has been discovered dead in the family car, believed to be napping in his room, amidst soaring temperatures reaching 44°C. This heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Saint-Gratien, Val-d’Oise, when parents frantically realised their child was missing, only to find him in the car about 45 minutes later. Despite frantic efforts, including CPR attempts by a nearby bus driver, the boy could not be saved. Authorities are now investigating how the child ended up in the vehicle, hoping to uncover details surrounding this tragedy.

Shockingly, this comes just days after a similar heartbreaking event in Carpentras, France, where two young siblings were found dead in a hot car. Their mother reportedly “forgot” about them, leaving the children in the family vehicle parked in their garage. Despite emergency services’ best efforts to revive them, both children tragically passed away. A manslaughter investigation is now underway.
These incidents are a chilling reminder of the dangers posed by heatwaves and the importance of vigilance during scorching temperatures. Our thoughts are with the grieving families during this unimaginably difficult time 💔
