🚆 Stuck on the Eurostar from Paris to Amsterdam for a full eight hours—sounds like a travel nightmare, right? Passengers experienced just that when a technical glitch brought the train to a screeching halt near Fresnoy-le-Luat. 😰

Caught in the midst of a scorching heatwave, the passengers were left without electricity or air conditioning. With temps soaring and nerves fraying, you can imagine the scene! One passenger took to social media venting, “What on earth is happening with our train?”

Eurostar attributes the chaos to the “exceptional heatwave” messing with their systems. But don’t worry, they were quick to dispatch police, firefighters, and civil protection crews to help out. Elderly passengers received special assistance, and water was handed out to combat the blazing conditions. 🚒💧
By 12:30 am, a rail replacement service finally arrived, and the journey resumed to Brussels. As for Amsterdam-bound passengers? They were redirected via bus and taxi.
Amar Chaabi, Eurostar’s chief operating officer, apologised for the ordeal and praised the efforts of staff and emergency services. He assured everyone that they’re investigating the incident to up their game in customer service. 🙌
A tough trip, no doubt, but hats off to everyone who rallied to get passengers back on track! 🚂✨
