🎸 Metallica Fans Alert! 🎸
This Sunday, June 28th, Cardiff is about to rock as Metallica hits the stage at the Principality Stadium. If you’re heading to the gig or just planning to be out and about in the city, heads up—there’s a series of road closures lined up! 🚧
⚠️ Road Closure Details:
Starting at 7am, Scott Road and Park Street will be closed to get ready for the influx of die-hard fans. By 3pm, expect a full city centre lockdown until midnight. Key roads like Kingsway, Cowbridge Road East, and Tudor Street are among those affected, so plan your journey accordingly! 🚗
High-footfall areas such as Duke Street, Castle Street, and St Mary Street will also be off-limits. If you’re relying on buses, Station Terrace will maintain bus access during closure hours, ensuring smooth travel.
🏁 Post-Concert Advisory:
Penarth Road will shut 30 minutes before the concert wraps up and remain closed for up to an hour post-event. This is to keep things safe for train passengers. 🚉 Likewise, Station Terrace will momentarily close post-show to allow Queen Street Station to handle the crowd safely.
Event parking and limited access in the Civic Centre will also be managed throughout the day. Key roads include King Edward VII Avenue, Museum Avenue, and others.
Got plans in Cardiff this weekend? Make sure you’re up to speed with these changes to keep your day hassle-free. The city will be bustling, so embrace the rock and roll atmosphere and have a fantastic time! 🤘
