🍻 Exciting times in a Pembrokeshire village! A local pub’s beer garden saga has everyone talking. The space we’ve all known and loved for nearly two decades as a spot for pints and catch-ups isn’t technically official—yet! 😉

Back in 2007, amidst the indoor smoking ban, the Basement Bar in Saundersfoot claimed this outdoor area for beer lovers. But guess what? It was never actually granted planning permission to be a beer garden, even though everyone’s been enjoying it for years! 🍺🌳

Fast forward to a 2025 refurb, and the truth emerged. Now, the pub’s owners are on a mission for a Certificate of Lawfulness, digging up evidence to prove this garden’s been a staple for years. They’ve got proof galore—photos, testimonies from happy patrons, and more showing the beer garden in action since 2007!
The plot twist? When the pub was leased from 2022-2025, the beer garden wasn’t even part of the deal, yet it sprang back to life post-refurb. 📸📜 The park planners are now set to dive into this application soon. Fingers crossed it becomes official! 🤞
Cheers to the possibility of keeping this beloved spot as our go-to pint paradise! What do you think of this beer garden bombshell? Sound off in the comments below! 🍻👀
