Exciting news for England fans as the line-up for the match against Panama has reportedly been revealed! The team, having secured their knockout stage spot, is still aiming to top their group with a win in New Jersey. Manchester United’s rising star Kobbie Mainoo is set to start, potentially taking over from Declan Rice, who is being cautiously managed due to a hamstring issue. Mainoo will team up with Elliot Anderson in midfield. Jude Bellingham, meanwhile, holds on to his advanced midfield role just behind captain Harry Kane.
On the wings, Marcus Rashford is likely to step in for Anthony Gordon following a tough game against Ghana, while Noni Madueke is expected to keep his spot despite Bukayo Saka’s return to fitness. In defence, Djed Spence might fill in for Reece James, who’s out with a minor injury. The central defence duo, Ezri Konsa and Marc Guehi, are tipped to continue alongside Nico O’Reilly at left-back.
If these reports are true, England could line up as follows: Jordan Pickford; Djed Spence, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi, Nico O’Reilly; Kobbie Mainoo, Elliot Anderson; Noni Madueke, Jude Bellingham, Marcus Rashford; Harry Kane.
Manager Tuchel emphasises there’s no room for complacency, despite already securing progression. “We cannot underestimate them,” he says, as England gear up to finish strong and carry momentum into the knockouts.
