🏉 Wales Edges Out Barbarians in a Sizzling Twickenham Showdown! 🏆
What a rollercoaster! Wales managed to snatch a 33-31 win against the Barbarians in London—but it wasn’t without its quirks. On a day pushing 30 degrees, the heat definitely left its mark on the game. Remember those classic high-octane Barbarians matches we love? This wasn’t one of them. It felt more like a practice run in the sunshine!
So, what do we take away? Honestly, not much more than a bit of suntan! The game was scrappy with Wales trying to shake off the rust before facing Fiji. The Baa-Baas brought a few surprises, including some cheeky scrum penalties, but they couldn’t stop Welsh players like Kieran Hardy and Dan Edwards from showing a flair in the red-zone.
George North delivered a heartwarming farewell performance for the Barbarians, scoring twice and even cheekily nailing a conversion. A legend giving us all the feels! 💫
Despite the patchy play, both Sam Costelow and the Ospreys half-backs managed to bring some flair with their tries, giving us a glimpse of the potential for a more dynamic Welsh attack.
Did Fiji, our next opponents, have anything to worry about watching this? Probably not. But come game day, captain Jac Morgan and the rest of the squad will surely step it up a notch. This quiet game might’ve felt like a throwback to the Covid era with sparse crowds, but let’s hope this unpolished victory helps Wales find their rhythm for the upcoming clash.
As the sun set over Twickenham, let’s keep our fingers crossed for a fired-up Wales team against the Flying Fijians next week! 🇼🇸🔥
