🎾 Big Wimbledon News 📢

Hold on, tennis fans! The BBC paused its live Wimbledon coverage to deliver a bit of sad news. Just a day before his big match, British tennis sensation Jack Draper has had to withdraw from the tournament 😢.

Draper, who proudly holds the title of British men’s number one, was set to face off against Taylor Fritz in a much-anticipated first-round highlight. But due to a recurring arm injury, he’s sidelined for this year’s Championships. Draper called this setback “the absolute worst” moment he’s faced recently.
This announcement comes just after Emma Raducanu also pulled out due to injury. During a match between top seed Jannik Sinner and Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic, presenter Isa Guha shared the disappointing update for British tennis supporters, saying: “There is some more disappointing news for British fans after Emma Raducanu was forced to withdraw with injury last night, Jack Draper has also dropped out.”
In his heartfelt message, Draper expressed: “Devastated to share that I have had to withdraw due to a recurrence of my arm injury. There have been a lot of painful moments in the last 12 months but this one is definitely the absolute worst as there is no greater honour for a British player than playing at Wimbledon.”
Fitness challenges have shadowed Draper in recent years, reminiscent of past setbacks. He remarked on the difficulty of facing unexpected hurdles, especially after feeling top-notch and anticipating an upward climb in his game and confidence.
Let’s send our support to Jack Draper as he focuses on recovery. Hoping we see him back on the court stronger and healthier soon! 💪🎾 #Wimbledon #Tennis #BritishTennis #JackDraper #GetWellSoon
