🏉 Big decisions looming for Wales Rugby Squad! 🏉
Steve Tandy is prepping to trim down his rugby squad within the next 24 hours, and it’s crunch time for some players. With the Nations Championship on the horizon, he’s got to drop at least 11 players from his initial 48-man lineup. Injured players like Liam Belcher and Louie Hennessey are already out, but for others, the wait is on.
Who’s in, and who’s out? 🧐 With key players like Dafydd Jenkins, Louis Rees-Zammit, and Max Llewellyn joining camp, competition is fierce. Gareth Thomas and Rhys Barratt are battling it out for the loosehead spot, while Freddie Thomas and Teddy Williams could be locking horns for a coveted lock position.
The back row is particularly crowded with nine contenders, and it seems Harrison Keddie and Ryan Woodman might be on the bubble. Meanwhile, the return of Jac Morgan might put Tommy Reffell in a tight spot. And although Tomos Williams, Kieran Hardy, and Reuben Morgan-Williams seem like the go-to scrum-halves, Ellis Bevan could face disappointment.
In the backline? It’s all eyes on Dan Edwards and Sam Costelow leading the charge as top outside-halves, potentially sending Jarrod Evans up for a challenge. Centre positions are under scrutiny too, with Joe Roberts needing to make his mark.
And what about the back-three? It’s hard to imagine Wales without Rees-Zammit and Josh Adams lighting up the pitch, but Tom Rogers is feeling the heat after a lacklustre game against the Barbarians. Leicester’s Gabriel Hamer-Webb might also have a steep hill to climb.
