🚨 Another Raiding at Florentino’s Italian Restaurant! 🚨

It looks like trouble’s still brewing for popular eatery chain Florentino’s. After a raid at their Carmarthen spot led to arrests back in February, immigration officers have now swooped down on their Tenby location. 🌊
Perched right by Tenby’s picturesque harbour, Florentino’s opened in 2019. It’s been a local favourite for authentic Italian cuisine. However, the recent visit from authorities wasn’t about their delicious pasta – two more Romanian workers were arrested for not having the right to work in the UK. One has already headed home, while the other is preparing for the journey.

This continued saga isn’t entirely new for Florentino’s. Previously, it found itself in hot water for some financial slip-ups between 2016-2020, resulting in a hefty tax penalty. 💸

With an ongoing investigation to determine who’s behind the illegal hires, the pressure is on Florentino’s management as they face potential fines of up to £60,000 per illegal worker found. 😬
Across Wales, these kinds of raids are ramping up, with over 1,300 carried out last year alone, leading to 649 arrests!
Richard Johnson from the Home Office praised his team for their hard work, emphasising the importance of keeping businesses compliant with the rules.
