Tragic news from Eryri as the body of missing walker Gregor, 74, has been discovered. Gregor went missing last week, sparking a major search effort both by land and air. After four days of intensive searching, he was sadly found on Carnedd Y Filiast on Monday.
Authorities confirm there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and the coroner has been informed. Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson expressed his deepest condolences to Gregor’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
Heartfelt thanks go out to everyone involved in the search, including police, mountain rescue teams, volunteers, and local community members who showed incredible dedication and support over the weekend and beyond.
Gregor, an experienced walker, was last seen near the Snowdonia Mountain Hostel in Bethesda, where his car was found. Concerns grew when he failed to return from his hiking trip in the rugged Carnedd Y Filiast area.
Our thoughts are with Gregor’s loved ones as they come to terms with this devastating news. 🕊️
