🚨 Flag Take Down Drama in Wrexham! 🚨

In a bold move, Welsh independence activists from the group Mudiad Eryr Wen have removed English and Union Jack flags from lampposts near Wrexham AFC’s Cae Ras stadium. Claiming these flags have “absolutely nothing to do with Wales,” the group shared footage of the action, including the removal of the Union flag, Cross of St George, and an Ulster loyalist flag.

MEW, a self-described “grassroots youth movement for an independent Cymru,” strongly believes these symbols represent English dominance and don’t belong in Wrexham. Their statement called the flag displays an “embarrassment” and highlighted local frustration, arguing this area isn’t like Belfast’s Shankill Road and doesn’t welcome such displays.
This isn’t the first time the area has seen such actions. Last year, activists removed similar flags from over the A483 near Rhiwabon, stating they’d do it again if needed. The move has sparked a divisive debate among locals, with some infuriated and others supportive.
Wrexham County Borough Council is yet to comment on the incident, leaving many waiting to see what happens next. Is this expression of national identity or just a quest for local pride? Let us know your thoughts below! 🇧🇷👉
