Exciting changes are coming to Merthyr Tydfil’s play areas! 🎉 The local council has just announced a whopping £200k investment to revamp these much-loved spaces, bringing smiles and laughter to the children and families in the community. 👨👩👧👦
Troedyrhiw Park Central and Mount Pleasant are the lucky recipients of £100k each. This means brand new equipment and upgrades to spark creativity and adventure for the little ones. 🌳🏃♀️ But that’s not all! An additional £60k is set aside for smaller improvements throughout the county borough, ensuring every child gets a safe and joyful play experience.
This initiative isn’t just about shiny new slides and swings. It’s about recognising the importance of play in fostering children’s physical, social, and emotional wellbeing. Over the past few years, 22 sites have already benefited from similar refurbishments thanks to the council’s dedication. It’s fantastic to see continued investment in our community’s future, even when faced with tough budget choices. 🏗️
With 54 fixed play areas under its management, the council is committed to providing spaces that serve as a hub for fun, imagination, and healthy development. Keep an eye out for these exciting changes and get ready to explore the refreshed playgrounds! 🤸♂️🛝
