Wimbledon had its share of drama as rising star Mirra Andreeva was overwhelmed with emotion on Centre Court! After a tough second-round match against Barbora Krejcikova, the Russian star threw her racket in frustration and later burst into tears during the press conference. 😢
The 19-year-old Andreeva, a Grand Slam champion, fought valiantly, even saving six match points, but ultimately fell short with a 4-6 7-5 6-4 defeat. Krejcikova is no easy opponent, being a two-time Major champion herself!
After the match, Mirra expressed her disappointment, admitting it would take a few days to heal and get back to the practice courts. She’s determined to bounce back and make a mark on the hard courts!
