🚨 Big Changes Coming to Amazon in Bristol! 🚨

Amazon is shaking things up in Bristol as they plan to close their sorting office. This move affects hundreds of staff, who will soon be relocated to a massive new site near the M49.

Amazon’s current Cabot Park site houses three operations, and around 430 people are employed there. Under the new plan, 295 staff from parcel and heavy goods deliveries will transfer to the brand-new Severnside industrial site, continuing their roles at this cutting-edge facility.

And that’s not all! The impressive 112,000sq m building at Axis Works is set to open its doors in October after a £200m investment. However, the news isn’t as rosy for the sorting office employees. The centre will shut down at the end of August, affecting 135 workers. Out of these, 90 permanent staff will find new homes at the Avonmouth fulfilment centre, while fixed-term contract workers will complete their terms.
In the meanwhile, those in senior roles are being offered opportunities elsewhere in Amazon’s vast UK network. Amazon reassures staff that they are their top priority during this transition and that all employees impacted will receive support.
Despite these changes, Amazon remains a significant employer in the region, with 75,000 individuals working across the UK in various roles. They also recently reported paying over £1.3bn in UK taxes last year, demonstrating their continued commitment to contributing to the local economy.
Stay tuned for more updates on Amazon’s transition and how it will shape the future landscape of Bristol’s workforce! 🌟📦
