🚨 Shock and Shame in the Police Force 🚨

A Greater Manchester police officer, PC Michael Jones, has left the force in disgrace after being caught up in a scandal involving explicit texts exchanged during duty hours. This lurid tale of misconduct began with him messaging women about his sexual fantasies, including BDSM and role play, and even arranging meetups.

Jones resigned just before a disciplinary hearing, which found he’d have been sacked for gross misconduct if he hadn’t already left. He was one of 10 GMP officers investigated for contacting sex workers without a legitimate police reason. His shocking behaviour was exposed during an Anti-Corruption Unit probe, sparked by a separate incident involving another officer using a force-issued phone for illicit meetings.
The investigation revealed how Jones, while on duty, sent multiple texts to various women discussing explicit scenes and fantasies. He even squeezed in an hour-long rendezvous with one of them before attending a police training session. His actions, deemed “intentional and premeditated” by the panel, included attempts to direct women to “filming work” and extensive browsing of hook-up websites while on shift.
Despite denying any wrongdoing, the verdict was clear: had he stayed, Jones would have been dismissed without notice. His name now appears on the Royal College of Policing’s ‘Barred List’, ending any hopes of returning to policing roles.
The case highlights the pressing issue of accountability and professionalism within the force as it battles to restore public trust. 💔
