🏃♀️ Keely Hodgkinson’s Rollercoaster Week! 😲

Keely Hodgkinson, our beloved Olympic 800m star, has just shared a powerful snapshot from the medical room that’s tugged at all our heartstrings. Only days before she raced at the Diamond League, Keely revealed she couldn’t walk due to a rough fall, which left her knees cut, bruised, and heavily taped.

Despite battling injuries, the 24-year-old showed incredible determination and clocked an impressive time of 1:56.73, finishing second to Lilian Odira. While it wasn’t her best time, considering the circumstances, it’s nothing short of amazing. And let’s not forget her fierce spirit is aimed at breaking more records this summer, as she works on her first-lap speed by tackling the 400m distance.
Her emotional Instagram post, captioned “Forward motion,” shows her resilience and grit, reminding us all of the ups and downs that come with being an elite athlete. The Atherton ace isn’t letting this setback slow her down—she’s committed to chasing her dreams, with the London Diamond League race next on her radar.
Injuries might have troubled Keely this season, including that withdrawal from the 400m final at the UK Athletics Championship, but her eye is still firmly on the prize. The world record, currently held since 1983, could very well be within reach.
We’re cheering you on, Keely! 💪 Keep moving forward and inspiring us all! 🏅
