Exciting weekend down by the River Dee near Llangollen! πππ€

Emergency teams rushed to the scene after a kayaker found themselves in a bit of trouble amidst the area’s challenging rapids and stunning natural rock formations. Not your average Saturday, right? The River Dee, a top spot for thrill-seeking kayakers, saw an impressive display of teamwork from the ambulance, fire crews, and mountain rescue teams who pulled out all the stops for a heroic rescue.

Using a towpath on the picturesque Llangollen Canal, emergency services swiftly made their way to the scene. With North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) leading the charge for the water rescue, they ensured the safe transfer of the kayaker from the river to land. Big shoutout to the award-winning NWFRS water rescue team who just last week showcased their skills in South Yorkshire!
Mountain rescue volunteers were on standby, ready to lend a hand, as the crew expertly used a rope system to bring the kayaker up the steep riverbank. From there, the casualty was whisked away for further treatment.
Massive kudos to all the teams involved for their seamless cooperation and heroic efforts! Hereβs wishing the kayaker a full and speedy recovery. πͺπ₯
