Owners of the beloved Kings Road Yard in Pontcanna, Cardiff, have been slapped with a nearly £8,000 fine for breaching noise abatement notices. Despite their popularity, residents have had enough of the racket from amplified music and lively gatherings late into the night.

After numerous complaints, Cardiff Council’s Shared Regulatory Services took action, and the matter went to Cardiff Magistrates’ Court. Faced with clear evidence showing how noise was impacting local residents’ quality of life, owners Keith and Caroline Munro pleaded guilty. The court handed them each a fine and required them to contribute towards prosecution costs, totalling £3,900 per person.
