People are fuming over the state of the roads in the Vale of Glamorgan, with the council spending big bucks on contractors to get the job done. Between 2022 and 2025, over £7 million was shelled out! 💷 But has all this spending really improved the roads? Critics aren’t so sure.
Leading voices from the community, including Conservative Councillor George Carroll, are questioning the value for money, suggesting perhaps the council should consider handling road maintenance internally. Despite criticisms, a spokesperson insists they’re on the case, having reportedly addressed nearly 2,000 road issues in May alone. They emphasise challenges from weather changes, traffic increases, and tighter budgets but assure residents they’re up for it and committed to safe roads. 🛣️
