Last week, this horrific blaze swept through a village, and rescue operations have been ongoing since. Sadly, the British pensioner succumbed to her injuries after battling severe burns.
The situation continues to be dire, with reports of other potential victims, believed to be British, discovered in a burnt-out car. But amid the tragedy, there was a glimmer of hope; two British hikers were found alive near a ravine, thanks to the intuition and persistence of the Civil Guard officers. Despite suffering extensive burns, they were rescued after a challenging operation and are currently recovering in a Spanish hospital.
