Sunseekers at Penarth Beach were in for a surprise when part of the cliff gave way, creating a scene straight out of a movie! 😲 Happening just around 4.30pm on a sunny Friday, the cliff collapse sent a huge cloud of dust billowing into the air, leaving beachgoers stunned.
David Wilton, one of the eyewitnesses, shared his disbelief, “It’s truly amazing no one was hurt. We heard a rumble and saw the dust cloud rise.” Thankfully, all those enjoying the beach were safe, but it was a close call for many, especially the teens enjoying the sunny spot!
The Vale of Glamorgan Council, always on their toes, promptly issued a warning urging everyone to steer clear of the area while they assess the situation. This isn’t the first time this scenic coastline has faced such issues; with its history of landslides and rockfalls, it’s a reminder of nature’s unpredictable power.
