After 23 years as the voice of Wimbledon, Castle wrapped up his final commentary with the men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev. Although the BBC offered him a chance to stay on with a different role, he decided to step away with grace. However, his connection to Wimbledon is far from over.

This Wednesday, Castle will be back hitting the courts at the All England Club, as it transitions back to being a private haven for its members. He shared his enthusiasm on GB News, saying he’s excited to enjoy the club in a new way post-commentary. 🏸😊

While discussing his departure, Castle noted the bittersweet feeling of leaving but acknowledged the time was right. “There comes a time for everything, and I accept that. I still feel like there’s plenty to offer,” Castle expressed, showing his affection for the BBC audience he’d grown to love over the years. ❤️

During the final segment, his longtime colleague Tim Henman paid a touching tribute, saying, “You’ve been an absolute star,” which Castle warmly reciprocated with memories of their shared journey.
