A police detective has appeared in court following serious allegations of upskirting and other offences. Detected constable Lee Harshey-Jones faces charges of recording an image under clothing without consent—commonly known as upskirting—as well as attempting to pervert the course of public justice and misusing police powers.

The incident reportedly took place in Colwyn Bay, and Harshey-Jones, aged 45 from Conwy, was arrested subsequently. Currently suspended from duty, he appeared at Chester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing. Though no pleas have been entered yet, a provisional trial date has been set for August 2027.
Previously a lead investigator in a high-profile murder case, Harshey-Jones now finds himself embroiled in controversy. As legal proceedings continue, North Wales Police have refrained from further comments. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as more details emerge.
