A 38-year-old man has been taken into custody after a peculiar incident in Ormesby, North Yorkshire. Two young girls, just five and six years old, reportedly encountered a man with an unusual accessory choice—he was only wearing one shoe!
This bizarre event unfolded around 3.45pm Monday on Allendale Road. The children reported that the man, who also carried a silver suitcase, allegedly tried to grab them by the wrist. When they resisted, he attempted to lure them, but thankfully, the girls managed to escape.
Described as a white male of slim build, wearing dark clothing and a single shoe, the individual was quickly reported to authorities. Thanks to the quick actions and alertness of the community, police were able to make an arrest by Tuesday evening.
Cleveland Police have reassured residents they’re actively investigating and have already conducted extensive inquiries, including consulting with the victims and reviewing local CCTV footage.
