🏙️ Cardiff’s Cleaning Up! 🧼

Say goodbye to chewing gum-covered streets in Cardiff! Thanks to a generous £27,500 grant from the ‘chewing gum task force’, Cardiff’s pavements are set for a much-needed makeover. This initiative, supportively backed by Keep Britain Tidy, will make a real difference in our city’s fight against stubborn gum spots.
How’s it happening? The plan includes purchasing specialised pavement sealant and gear for our diligent street workers. This techy solution creates a protective layer on our pavements, making it easier to remove gum and harder for it to stick in the first place. 👷♀️🛡️

But it doesn’t stop there. This programme is also about changing habits for good! With 50 local authorities across the UK on board, Cardiff is in great company focusing not just on cleaning, but also on encouraging everyone to use litter bins and keep our city tidy. 🗑️💪
Councillor Ed Stubbs speaks out: “Chewing gum litter is a costly issue. This funding helps us tackle the problem practically, but let’s all do our bit and use the bins provided.” And Keep Britain Tidy’s chief executive, Allison Ogden-Newton OBE, reminds us: “Each gum disposed of properly helps preserve our environment.”
So, Cardiff, let’s make our city not just cleaner, but greener! Every little bin counts! 🌿💚
