🌍 Let’s Talk Climate Change! 🌡️

With the Met Office announcing that the climate of the 20th century is officially “gone,” young voices are calling for action. While the sunshine may be a treat, the extreme heat is a clear sign of climate shifts we’re not ready for! 📈

Evie Jones, 19, loves working at Surfside cafe but feels the intense heat is overwhelming. “We shouldn’t feel like outsiders for caring about the planet. We need to act now.”
Young voices, like Joe Pallett, 17, share concerns yet feel powerless. He says, “It’s a bad mindset to think there’s nothing we can do.” But imagine if everyone took even small actions. How impactful would that be?
Amy Williams, 17, and Josh Cole, 20, share the urgency. “It’s happening, and it’s rapid,” says Josh. They believe collective action and educating ourselves are crucial steps. Ffion Lewis, 18, says real change needs to come from big companies, but every action matters. “If a million people made small changes, that’s a difference,” says Josh.
In schools across Wales, climate education is becoming more comprehensive, teaching students that every individual effort counts towards a bigger movement. 🌿
Dr Jennifer Rudd from Swansea University believes we’re at a social tipping point. She sees hope in schools where students organise swap events to reduce waste. “Individual change might feel small, but when voices come together, real change happens,” says Dr Rudd.
Simple steps like ethical banking, voting thoughtfully, and buying local make a difference. Let’s make ecological decisions easier and less polarising.
Join this collective movement and inspire others. Together, we can protect our planet for future generations! 💪🌍
