In a shocking court case, Ann Widdecombe’s tragic death has taken a chilling turn. At 78, the former Tory minister and Reform UK spokeswoman was found dead at her bungalow in Haytor on Dartmoor. Prosecutors reveal that Ann was allegedly struck 21 times on the head with a hammer, and a man named Joshua Kerry has been charged with her murder.

The court heard how Widdecombe was discovered by her gardener after failing to attend an online interview for Channel 5. Kerry, 28, from Rotherham, was arrested two days after her body was found, but he has denied any motive related to terrorism despite initial suspicions.
Reports state that on July 8th, while Ann was having lunch, Kerry allegedly drove up in a red Vauxhall Corsa, entered her home, and carried out the brutal attack, also stealing her wallet before fleeing. A provisional cause of death has been confirmed as a blunt force injury to the head.

Ann Widdecombe was not only a respected figure in politics but also a beloved TV personality, remembered for her time on shows like Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother. She first joined the political scene in 1987 as a Conservative MP and later became an MEP for the Brexit Party. At her passing, she was actively serving as a spokeswoman on immigration and justice for Reform UK.
Our thoughts remain with her family and friends as the investigation continues. Kerry was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey, with detectives still probing any possible political or terrorist links.
