Tragic Loss in Newport: Six in Court Over Teen Deaths

In a heartbreaking turn of events, six individuals have been brought before Cardiff Crown Court following the shocking deaths of Jaydon Bowyer, 19, and Ta-Shay Canoville, 16. The pair tragically lost their lives in a collision involving a BMW while they were on a motorbike in Newport on May 7.
Among those in court, Terell Case, 18, and Joshua Williams, 34, face serious charges, including the murder of the two teenagers. In addition, Case is grappling with a further charge of perverting the course of justice alongside four others from the Newport area.

The victims’ families have shared heartfelt tributes, painting a picture of two vibrant young lives cut short. Ta-Shay’s family remembered him as someone whose “life touched so many hearts,” bringing love, laughter, and light wherever he went. His family expressed their profound grief and cherished the impact he had during his short life.
Jaydon’s relatives described him as a “deeply loved son and friend,” a young man whose infectious smile and warm presence filled every room with joy. Known for his passion for bikes and a football talent likened to a “whippet on the pitch,” Jaydon’s dreams and plans left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Both families are left grappling with their unimaginable loss, cherishing the memories of the boys who were much more than just friends and sons—they were beacons of happiness and future hopes.

The court heard the preliminary proceedings but no pleas were entered. The case will reconvene on August 11, leaving the community in sombre anticipation. Friends and family of Jaydon and Ta-Shay continue to seek justice for the loved ones they’ve lost.
