In a shocking turn of events, 40-year-old Jamie Nugent-Squires, also known as Jamie Roberts or Jamie Whelan, has been deemed too dangerous for society after being caught hiding missing children in a wardrobe. This repeat offender, with a disturbing history involving children, was given a hefty extended sentence to protect the public.

Nugent-Squires’ past is nothing short of chilling, from sexually assaulting a young girl on the beach to taking vulnerable teens home to ply them with alcohol and drugs. Just last year, he was sentenced for hiding a boy and a girl from children’s homes in his wardrobe and suggesting drugs to other minors to “get them really horny.”

Despite a sexual harm prevention order in place, he breached it by chatting with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old boy on Snapchat and WhatsApp. Fortunately, the “boy” was actually a decoy adult, leading to his arrest outside Specsavers in Neath.
This isn’t his first brush with the law. With 21 previous convictions for offences ranging from indecent assault as a teen to racial abuse and harassment, his behaviour has consistently put others at risk. Judge Huw Rees highlighted concerns about Nugent-Squires’ “highly sexually preoccupied” nature and his persistent attempts to offend.
With a 5-year and 11-month extended sentence handed to him, it’s clear that Nugent-Squires is considered a significant threat. He’s required to serve two-thirds of his jail time before even applying for release, and only then if deemed safe. His time in prison will be marked by attempts at rehabilitation, but the priority remains clear: keeping the public safe from potential harm. Stay vigilant, folks, and let’s keep our communities aware and protected.
